The Hovertrax 2.o was created by razor, which is one of the best self balancing scooters you will find in the market. If you remember there was quite a few problems with Hoverboards but that was mainly due to the fact, that manufactures were using Chinese based batteries. This was resulting in uproars of fires across different Hoverboards.
The demand for Hoverboards is very high but some of them aren't too reliable. This review will help you decide, if the Razor Hovertrax 2.0 is an investment worth it's price.
- Weight Capacity: 220 LBS

Is The Hovertrax 2.0 a Safe Hoverboard?
The Hovertrax 2.0 has really made an impression on me for various reasons. For starters, we know that the Razor is a well known brand and delivers high quality products. It's safe to say that they have a proven track record. It's been certified for the UL2272 which gives it the labeled as one of the most reliable Hoverboards in the market.
The ever balance technology that it possesses has to be mentioned again because this really helps out beginners in the sense that it allows for more consistent balance. I remember when I first got on a Hoverboard ( I really don't even remember the model ) , I remember falling quite a good amount of times before I got the hang of it.
It has two purposes in reality:
- It helps you stay on the board
- It prevents damages to the board
In addition, it comes with fender bumpers to increase the longevity of the hovertrax 2.0.
Breakdown of the Pros and Cons
The new, unique design this Hoverboard offers is very refreshing in comparison to the original model. It almost gives life to the whole riding experience.
The Hovertrax 2.o is UL2272 certified, This basically means that the battery used have passed a safety standard. It's good to hear this from a well known brand, It shouldn't come as a shock though as Razor is one of the most reputable Hoverboard manufactures.
One of the safest hoverboard has to be the Hovertrax 2.0
In addition, the Hovertrax 2.o comes with this feature called EverBalance which allows for better balance and an overall better ride. Also, it comes with a 15 degree tilt which allows for riding on hills if you wish. You add the very quiet 350 watt motor and you have an excellent riding experience.
There aren't too many cons but there are a couple.
I do like the weight capacity that the Hovertrax 2.o holds but with speeds only up to 8 MPH thats a bit of a disappointment. It's not meant to be used on the grass or terrains like some other Hoverboards are. It can be used but I would keep it to minimal.
It's also a negative, the low amount of usage duration, only about 60 minutes. In the scenario that you only have one child then this MIGHT be enough. This is something I would highly consider.
My verdict is that this Hoverboard can be used by kids and adults but be aware that the 8 MPH speed limit will not give you the feel of other Hoverboards. It seems like this would be the perfect self balancing scooter for a child. This is expected because Razor has chosen safety over dangerous speed. If you are big on safety and can deal with the lack of speed then I can definitely recommend the Hovertrax 2.0.
